Jumbo Brown Pharaoh Coturnix Quail sets $40

We are liquidating our spring breeder sets! Get some great bloodlines, great birds at a discounted rate. We are scaling back for summer and these are our ‘extra’ spring breeders; they still have a lot of life left as layers and breeders! Our mature birds are normally $50/set (5 hens/1 roo), but these are $40/set, while they last. We have about 10 sets available. Some/most hens will be missing head/back feathers due to being in breeding pens.

Other availability:
Jumbo brown sets, 6-8 weeks old, $50 per set (4-5 sets available)
Fawns (some with sparkly) sets, 6-8 weeks old, $50/set (only 1-2 sets available of this variety)
Jumbo brown sets, just 3 weeks old but already feather-sexed, $40/set (12 sets available)

We also have a very limited selection of Andalusian, Fees, and extended browns (Tibetan, Rosetta), 6 weeks-6 months of age….contact for availability.

About our JUMBO BROWN line:
These are 1st and 2nd generation birds from the ‘JMF Jumbo Brown’ breeding stock we obtained from Southwest Gamebirds last year. We started this new line last year by securing 230 hatching eggs from SWGB. We assessed each bird and started culling at 3, 4, 6, and 10 weeks of age. We kept only the ‘top’ 20 birds that met our selection criteria, for use as our breeding stock. By making our first cut at 3 weeks of age (based on weight), we have selected for early growth to the point that our chicks are feather sexable at 14-15 days of age. Our freezer Roos are ready for dispatching at 6-7 weeks, with our average group weight being 11.25 oz at just 6 weeks. Other selection criteria includes confirmation, temperament, egg size, and lastly (since these are production birds)….color. My top roo was not only the largest remaining in the group, but he also has a very distinctive, thick, black and white chinstrap that he is passing along to his progeny. Our hens are averaging 13-14 oz at full maturity, with some topping out over 16 oz. Eggs are 14-16g, with some regularly laying 16-18g. We have had very few prolapse issues.

For biosecurity reasons, we do not allow farm visits. We regularly do weekend meet-ups at the Mayland Dollar General for our Crossville friends, or the Shell station in Monterey (I-40, exit 301) for Cookeville/Nashville/Knoxville friends. (On weekdays, we can meet in Cookeville; Tuesday evenings can meet at Lebanon)

Please send a message if you have any questions. We also have an information-packed digital flyer available if you have zero/limited knowledge about Coturnix.
