Look at those cutie bacon seeds! They are Idaho Pasture pigs.I have a few registrable high quality breeding gilts and boars.
If you got a couple of acres in your back yard, raise your own high quality pasture pork. Idaho pasture pigs are a breed developed specifically for these great traits below, the result of long periods of crossbreeding of Duroc, Old Berkshire, and Kunekune Pigs ;
friendly and docile temperament which is perfect for backyards and small homesteads with young children and small adults;
- their medium weight range , between 250 lbs to 350 lbs which is much easier to manage than a 500 to 600 lbs pigs; then, seriously, they are great grazer and they thrive on pastures, which contributes to much lower feed cost, least amount of rooting, and most importantly, the exceptionally flavorful and tender marbled meat is rich in essential nutrients and vitamins like anti -inflammatory omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin E and trace minerals. Least but not the last , lPP are hardy and adaptable to both warm and cold climates; they are very low maintenance as long as they have shelter , small pastures to roam, water and 3-5 lbs feed a day.
