The A button started to malfunction, so I took it apart to see why. Turns out the tiny piece of silicone right under the button got too flexible and wouldn't depress correctly, so the button acted as it was constantly pressed. Not the bigger piece on top of the circuit board, that little bubble under the button. Also I lost a screw somewhere when taking the controller apart to troubleshoot.
