There are so many different factors we need to key in on in this aspect.
If your not physically in shape, I recommend you do what you can to better yourself.
For those that can't defend themselves, do you have someone that will be there for you?
For those that can defend themselves, are you open to helping others that can't?
Are you a team player?
Do you know how to be?
What is your weapon of choice?
If you have guns, great!
If you have cameras, great!
But....what if the internet goes out? There goes most cameras!
Or what if a perpetrator gets around your cameras?
Will you have time to get to your weapon before someone breaks down your door?
Or what if you're attacked at your car or in a public setting?
I'm gonna help you out....Get a dog built and bred for these purposes!
That's my intended purpose for every dog I have!
This is my purpose for selectively picking and breeding the dogs I have.
We start from the time the puppies are born until they are placed in their homes to make sure the pups have great nerves to handle the job they are intended for.
A protection dog should not be reactive.
It should not be on the window of your car raising cain and possibly grabbing people walking past.
Your dog should be able to sit in your vehicle calm but confident and always watching for a threat.
Your dog should be able to confidently walk by your side watching for people in front of and behind you and knowing when there is a threat and alert appropriately.

With that being said...I do have high drive dogs that are to much for a home with kids and need to be placed on the police force/military but I also have others I have those puppies now that have the perfect genetic lineup of great health and great genetics to do the job...
Who wouldn't want to feel more safe?
